One of the most profitable ways of earning money online is to write your own ebook. This may sound daunting, but it isn’t difficult. In fact, if you work hard, you could have your ebook ready for sale in just one week. Here are my step by step instructions on how to write an ebook in 7 days.

Day 1. Choose your niche. You may want to write about one of your hobbies, and that would make your work more fun. However there may not be many people buying in this niche, and you may not make many sales.  The alternative is to choose a topic that is profitable, but less interesting. It’s entirely up to you which way you choose to go.

Find out what people are looking for using the Google keyword tool, or Google trends. Read forums in your niche and look for topics that are discussed regularly. If you can find out what problems or questions people have, and answer them in your ebook, you will make sales.

When you have chosen the topic for your ebook, use keyword research to decide on your book’s title, and purchase an appropriate domain name.

Day 2. Graphics. Although we’re talking about how to write an ebook in 7 days, it can take the same amount of time for a designer to create your website graphics and ebook cover. If you start this process on day 2, there’s a good chance your graphics will be ready for you by day 7.

If you are planning on having an affiliate program for your ebook, make sure you have some matching banners created. It is much easier for affiliates to sell your product if you supply them with promotion tools.

Day 3. Think about your chapter topics. What questions are you going to answer in each chapter? Where might you find those answers?  When you have decided on your chapter titles, open your Page Four software and start a new page for each chapter. At this point you can start to jot down notes and list useful websites under the relevant chapter heading.

Don’t worry that you are almost half way through the week and you have nothing written. When you are working out how to write an ebook in 7 days, you must remember that there is a lot of work to be done before you put your fingers to the keyboard.

Day 4. It’s time for research. There are lots of places you can find information to include in your ebook. Although your first instinct will be to turn to the internet, don’t forget to check out your local library. You may also be able to chat to someone with experience in your niche, and ask for their thoughts and opinions. A great source for this is the website HARO – you can send out a request asking for people with experience in your niche, and you will be pleasantly surprised at how many replies you get.

Day 5. Flex those typing muscles and start writing. Here is the most important tip for learning how to write an ebook in 7 days – don’t aim for perfection. Write your book as well as you can, spend some time proofreading and editing your writing, and then put it up for sale. If you wait until everything is just right, you may never get your book sold.

Day 6. Create your webpage, and upload it to your webhost. Choose your payment processor, keeping in mind that buyers will want to download your ebook immediately after they have paid. It’s a good idea to invite your buyers to join your mailing list after they have purchased. You will then have a list of potential buyers for any future ebooks you write.

If you are planning to have an affiliate program, now is the time to set it up

Day 7. Drive traffic to your website, and promote your ebook wherever you can. Start looking for affiliates in your niche who may be interested in selling your ebook for a percentage of the profits.

When you have figured out how to write an ebook in 7 days, there is no reason why you can’t do it again. You can easily create a library of ebooks that will earn you passive income month after month.

  2. I ‘m new in blog and have just developed my own site and today I ‘m doing my best to learn as many as possible about this kind of new world. I truly like the blog skin, may I know what layout is it? Is that custom design or is it paid one? Anyway I don’t have the funds to have paid design nor have the ability to custom template myself. I’m sorry for the newbie question, thanks.
